

The Asian Translators' Forum is a regional conference held once every three years under the auspices of the International Federation of Translators [FIT]. Though a regional conference, many internationally renowned scholars, apart from translators in Asia, will attend and give plenary speeches according to the plan. In addition, the president of the FIT will deliver the opening speech. The first Forum was held in Beijing in 1995, the second in Seoul in 1998, and the third in Hong Kong in 2001. The Fourth Forum will be held in Beijing again in 2004.
The Fourth Asian Translators' Forum, co-hosted by the Translators Association of China [TAC] and Tsinghua University, will be held on the beautiful campus of Tsinghua University during October 29-31, 2004. About 300 participants from all over the world are expected to attend the forum. Sub-themes of the forum are as follows:

Preliminary Schedule
The 4th Asian Translators' Forum on translation and interdisciplinary studies will be held at Tsinghua University from October 29 to 31, 2004. Besides the regular sessions, a tour to the Great Wall is also included. During the forum, an international exhibition of books on translation and interdisciplinary studies will be held.
Submission of Abstracts
All abstracts (600-1000 words) that are related to the sub-themes of the forum are welcome. Please send us your postal address, telephone number and e-mail address along with your abstract. The deadline for submission of abstracts is April 30, 2004. Official letters of invitation will be sent to you before May 20, 2004.
